How to Update WHOIS for Your Domain

Summary

According to ICANN regulation, when a domain is registered, the owner must submit accurate contact information. Maintaining accurate WHOIS information is an essential part of properly managing your domain.

Your HostMonster control panel provides you access to the Domain Manager which gives you the ability to add, edit, and manage all of your HostMonster domains from one place. You can also update your WHOIS information for multiple domains at a time through the Domain Manager.

How to Update WHOIS for Your Domain

  1. Log into your cPanel.
  2. Click the Domain Manager tab or click on Domain Manager in the Domains section.
  3. On the left, click to highlight the domain(s) you wish to update. The right side will populate with tabs.
  4. Click on the Contacts tab.
  5. Under Contacts, click to check any contact type you want updated (Registrant, Admin, Billing).
Note: The email address under Admin is where transfer emails are sent.
  6. When you are finished, click Update Contact Information.
